These areas are home to incredible things to do that are sure to keep every visitor entertained. In addition to memorable activities, San Diego is also home to landmarks, both recognizable and unique. On your next stay at InterContinental San Diego, set off to see how many of these attractions you can find.

7 Things to See in San Diego

Countless landmarks dot the San Diego landscape. In addition to places like the Gaslamp Quater, Balboa Park, and Mt. Soledad, there are numerous other landmarks to see. With so many things to see, figuring out which ones are must-sees can be daunting. To help, our team has put together a list of seven things or places to visit.

  1. Surrounded by cliffs in nearby La Jolla, La Jolla Cove is a great spot to go tide pooling during low tide. Be sure to keep your eyes open for the sea lions that like to lay on the sandy shoreline.
  2. Take in the beauty of San Diego Bay on a boat cruise from local charters like Flagship Cruises & Events.
  3. Mission Basilica San Diego was the second Franciscan-founded mission in the state. Founded back in 1769, it still has daily mass services and is also open to tours.
  4. Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, also known as the "Birthplace of California, this attraction is home to museums and sites that tell the story of California's first settlements.
  5. While visiting Seaport village, be sure to stop by the USS Midway. Decommissioned in 1992, this aircraft carrier is home to exhibits that tell its story.
  6. The free-standing USS San Diego Memorial on Harbor Drive honors the WWII Navy cruiser San Diego and its crew. It was installed in 2005 and features a bronze sailor sculpture.
  7. Perhaps one of the city's most iconic landmarks or attractions is the Whaley House. Found in Old Town, this 1850s house turned museum is supposedly haunted. There are several tours to choose from, all of which give you an inside look at this historic home.
