What to Know about 5 SD Markets

Thanks to its idyllic conditions, California is home to countless farmers’ markets, including right here in San Diego. No matter the day of the week, chances are there is a market open somewhere in town.

  1. Make your way to the Coronado Ferry Landing Tuesdays from 2:30 to 6 p.m., to shop the Coronado Farmers’ Market. While this is one of the smaller markets, it is still an excellent spot for fresh produce and flowers.
  2. Little Italy Mercato Farmers’ Market is open two days a week: Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The two options take place at different locations, but both have a wide range of vendors to choose from.
  3. Every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Normal Street is taken over by the Hillcrest Farmers’ Market. There are over 100 booths to browse, filled with everything from flowers to crafts to produce and more.
  4. During the weekends, visit the Gaslamp Artisan Market. This market runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. See what treasures you can find, like hand-crafted items, wellness products, and accessories.
  5. Visiting the North Park Thursday Farmers Market between 3 and 7 p.m. is a great way to get ready for the weekend. Located between Ray Street and Granada Avenue on North Park Way, this option has a variety of food items, activities for kids, and live music.
